Leanyer Zone Substation and Transmission Lines

Leanyer Zone Substation will reduce the load upon and provide backup to Casuarina Zone Substation and will be an alternative supply route for customers such as the Royal Darwin and Darwin Private Hospitals, the Casuarina commercial precinct and Charles Darwin University.

Leanyer Zone Substation will ensure security of electricity supply for the northern suburbs, specifically Lyons and Muirhead. In the longer term, future new suburbs may be developed to the north along Lee Point Road and these too will be supplied from Leanyer.
