Winners of the Power and Water 2010 Melaleuca Awards for environmental excellence were announced on Friday 4 June on the eve of the Tropical Garden Spectacular and inaugural Top End Sustainable Living Festival.
All category winners were presented with a unique glass sculpture created by Territory glass artist Christine Isaacs, $1000 prize money and a certificate for a Level 1 Water Audit. Category winners and nominees are:

The school poster competition winners were also announced at the Award’s presentation.
Previous winners have ranged from regional primary schools to remote communities to hotels and airports. Projects have included the creation of a conservation reserve, reduction of rubbish, production of a water conservation DVD, reduction of energy consumption, installation of water saving devices and funding for tree plantings and an eco-fair.
