New Managing Director for the Power and Water Corporation

A born and bred Territorian and member of Darwin’s Greek community, Mr Macrides has worked with the Corporation since 1998.

Mr Macrides is a qualified accountant with extensive management experience.

He was the Corporation’s inaugural Chief Financial Officer and most recently he has held the role of Company Secretary and General Manager Business Services.

“Power and Water is Australia’s most complex multi-utility,’’ Power and Water Chairman Neil Philip said.

“Mr Macrides has held various roles here for almost a decade. Power and Water has evolved dramatically over that time.

“I am thrilled to have him take on this role to help drive our capacity to meet the future needs of Territorians.’’

Treasurer and shareholding Minister, Syd Stirling, said Mr Macrides would be at the helm of one of the Territory’s most significant operations.

“Power and Water is a Government-owned Corporation, which is also one of the largest businesses and employers in the Territory,’’ Mr Stirling said.

“Significantly, Mr Macrides oversaw the development of Power and Water’s recently announced five-year, $814 million infrastructure investment plan.

“While the organisation has a requirement to act commercially in the marketplace, it is also a key driver of economic growth across the Territory.

“I congratulate Mr Macrides on his appointment to this key position.
