Response to Northern Territory News article

An article focused on the operations of the Power and Water Corporation was featured on page 7 of the Northern Territory News on 2 January 2007. The article, by journalist Greg McLean, refers to a confidential report commissioned by Power and Water and undertaken by Ernst and Young. The report was commissioned after a series of long-standing complaints from a disgruntled former contractor.

This article was misleading and failed to include relevant information. The Power and Water Corporation has raised these issues with the newspaper.

Given the content of the article the Power and Water Corporation wants to assure staff, customers and other stakeholders that the organisation has sought to clarify the issues raised and that the article is not an accurate reflection of the situation.
