A free new booklet to help Central Australians save water is available at this weekend’s desertSMART Eco Fair.Power and Water Corporation and desertSMART COOLmob joined forces to publish Water Wise Action in Central Australia to provide a single source of local information on the why and how of water conservation.
"Water Wise Action in Central Australia is a booklet every home should have," Power and Water Area Manager Alan Whyte said.
"We live in an area with very low average rainfall but we use up to three times as much water in our homes and gardens as other Australians.
"This booklet will help you find water leaks, show you how to collect greywater, identify native plants for your garden and a lot more.
"Most importantly, it's local information from local experts."
desertSMART COOLmob received government funding to research and write the booklet with assistance from the Nursery and Garden Industry NT and local garden and water experts. Power and Water edited and printed the booklet.
Copies are available at the Eco Fair tomorrow as well as from desertSMART COOLmob, your local garden supplier, Power and Water customer service centres in Alice Plaza or the Government Centre Tennant Creek and online as well.
