Help save the planet! competition winners announced

Power and Water Coporation is pleased to announce the winners of the online education resource website competition.

Power and Water's new education resource website Help save the planet! was launched with a competition open to all Territory students.

For a chance to win an iPod touch or $1000 for their school, students were encouraged to complete a simple quiz on water or electricity use. Chances were doubled if they completed both quizzes.

Below are the students who each won an iPod touch:

  • Samantha Cook, Alice Springs School of the Air
  • Jemma Hayman, Darwin Middle School
  • Clayton Morrison, Katherine South Primary School
  • Zakisha Lalara, Angurugu School
  • Sarah Robinson, Taminmin College
  • Savanah White, Tennant Creek High School

The following schools will each receive a $1000 cash prize:

  • St Philip's College, Alice Springs
  • Moulden Park School, Palmerston
  • Jilkminggan School, Katherine

The Help save the planet! website focuses on steps students can take to live sustainably, whether that is through turning up the air conditioning to more than 24 degrees or turning off the tap while brushing their teeth.
