Short power outages in Katherine

Some residents in Katherine may experience short duration power outages this morning while the convoy transporting the second engine travels along the Stuart Highway to Alice Springs.

The 70 metre trailer bearing the 230 tonne generator is travelling along the Stuart Highway and is expected in Katherine about 10am.

During its journey this oversized load will require Power and Water crews to de-energise some powerlines.

Outages may last 15 minutes to one hour for residents and businesses.

Traffic control is in place so please observe police direction and drive with caution.
