Nhulunbuy power outage update

A power outage is currently affecting those supplied by the Rio Tinto Alcan mine power station near Nhulunbuy including Power and Water customers in the nearby communities of Mangarr and Yirrkala.

Repairs are underway however it is understood that it could take some time to complete. This power station is not operated by Power and Water.

Nhulunbuy power outage updates:

2 August 2011, 4.10pm
Power has been restored to some areas supplied by the Rio Tinto Alcan mine power station near Nhulunbuy. Work to restore electricity supply for Nhulunbuy residents and Power and Water customers in the nearby communities of Mangarr and Yirrkala continues.
